Mick Brandenberger
Mick Brandenberger was highly influenced by his extreme changes in living locations. At the age of six, Brandenberger lived in Alaska in a log cabin with no modern amenities including running water. At times, weather conditions were so severe that he missed school several months at a time. His education came from his secluded surroundings in the woods. When he was eight, he then moved to the island of Oahu in Hawaii were he reveled in the tropical paradise. In school, Brandenberger had the unique opportunity to attend the art room everyday. This was not typical for all students. Many feel that this is where the artist in Mick was born. He often painted underwater scenes with its diverse plant and animal life. When he was ten he moved once again, this time to Tampa Florida. It was here where he stumbled some supplies for oil painting stored in the attic. Shortly thereafter he began teaching himself to paint. Mick Bradenberger obtained his Bachelors of Fine Art as well as a Master of Art Education at the University of South Florida. He extended his academic education as a doctoral aspirant at New York University. To date, Brandenberger has educated others ranging from kindergartners to post grads, all while continuing to paint his idealistic images.
