Slava Morgun was born in 1982 in Nizhniy Novgorod (the third largest city in Russia, with 1.5 million people). Both he and his twin sister, Katya, demonstrated an interest in art at the early age of three. At that point, Slava the child began his art career by quietly and spontaneously reflecting his early childhood experiences with colored pencils and watercolors. From the ages of seven through fifteen, Slava attended art school in Nizhniy Novgorod. In the fall of 1997, he entered the painting department of Nizhniy Novgorod Art College from which he graduated in 2002 with a Cum Laude diploma. In 2002, he moved to Moscow to study at the prestigious I. Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. During his studies at the art school, the art college and the academy, he was awarded certificates of honor for his participation in various exhibitions and diplomas. Until 2009, Slava will be devoting all of his attention to his academic studies. Once completed, he will officially begin his career as a full-time artist. In the meantime, only a few collectors will have the opportunity to purchase the limited number of original oil paintings on canvas by this gifted artist.
