This New York born artist started painting a picture each day when he was ten as part of a challenge set on by his father. Most of his works at the time were realistic pieces, but still very admirable. His skills advanced rapidly. By the time he was fourteen, he had his first one-man exhibition in France. That became the start of his travels and many exhibitions. His style transcended into more magical creations when he reached his early twenties as his study of famous artists like Van Gogh, Cezanne, Rockwell, Kent, and Georgia O’Keefe influenced his new masterpieces.

Most people may recognize his work and artistic style from Disney movies as he was hired on by Walt Disney in 1951 to be a background painter for their animated films. His magical and medieval style can be seen in many movies of the course of his fifteen-year career in animation, including the award-winning movie, “Sleeping Beauty.” Eyvind continued to create non-animated versions of his work again in 1966, which can now be found through Earle Eyvind art auctions.
