Randy Rhodes obtained a B.F.A from the University of Illinois in 1993, and then continued on to receive his M.F.A from the Chicago Art Institute in 1996. His early influences include De Chirico, Martin Pureyor, Jackson Pollack, and Edward Hooper, and his subject matter is also clearly influenced by his upbringing; Rhodes Mother was a botanist, and his Father an architect.

Rhodes work has been shown in galleries throughout Chicago, the East, Midwest, and Southwest, as well as featured in publications such as the Chicago Tribune and Artweek Magazine.
