Andrew Banari was born in 1960 in former USSR's republic of Moldova. His parents noticed his talent when he was 10, and promptly sent him to the local art school. The teachers in his school were mainly artists who had studied art in Russian Academies and universities, and were sent other Republics throughout the country. When Andrew Banari finished art school in 1975 he began his working primarily on textiles. Andrew participated in numerous textile art exibitions held in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. He also enjoyed creating silk screen art, as well as oil on canvas paintings as a free time hobby. After the break-up of Soviet Union, Banari became an independent artist. Andrew’s passion, and dedication to his artistic life’s work helped him and his family to survive the severe conditions of country's economical and political destruction. Today, Andrew Banari is a successful artist, and continues to paint in oil, taking inspiration from the natural beauty of his native Moldova.
