Andrey Vereshagin

Andrey Vereshagin was born in 1969 in a small town in the province of Moscow. As a youth he worked with his parents restoring churches. Andrey Graduated from the Art College in Tver in 1987. After graduation he had to complete a year of mandatory military duty. It was here that he was assigned to paint for the Museum of Battle and Fame. From there he went on to the distinguished Kiev Academy of Art, Architecture and Sculpture. In 1994 he graduated. Vereshagin draws much of his influence from stories by a notable painter/writer from Holland by the name of Peter Breigel who lived from 1530-1569. Breigel stories usually consisted of adventure and travel. Andrey Vereshagin has held over 30 one man exhibits through out Europe and the former Soviet countries. He has also been requested to paint several notable facades as well as murals. His works have been sold in some of London’s most notable auctions houses.
