Angel Castaneda was born in Otuzco, La Libertad, Peru in 1958. He is one of the young leading artists to emerge from Peru. He is a highly regarded artist who began exhibiting shortly after his completion of coursework at the renowned Escuela de Bellas Artes de Lima where he was considered to be one of the institution’s most talented students. Castaneda is one of Peru’s greatest figurative artists and he gives credit to the past masters for inspiring his work.
