Anthony Showe

Born in Lynnwood, California in 1960, Anthony Showe began exploring his artistic talents at a very young age. By the time he was sixteen years old, Showe was already getting paid to paint; he took on sign and mural jobs will concurrently refining his skills in sculpting, mold-making, air-brushing, and make-up. When he was eighteen, he began refinishing automobiles, combining his passion for creating art with a way to pay his bills.

Showe was very interested in working in the film and entertainment industry, where he could showcase his many skills. In 1982 he broke into the scene with a gig on a Roger Corman film and since then he has been productive and busy creating special effects for three dozen feature films. However, when he realized that this industry was being taken over by computer graphics, Showe returned to his artistic origins: fine art. This move has proved a smart one and he recently earned first, second, and third place at an audio-visual fair for a sculpted bust and two oil paintings.

Now, Showe explains, he no longer has to pour his artistic talents into someone else’s vision. He can create what he desires and, as he says, “I may not know art, but I know what I like.”
