Barry Leighton-Jones

English painter Barry Leighton-Jones (1932-2011) was born in London, England, and is a direct descendent of the Victorian artist and president of the Royal Academy, Lord Frederic Leighton. He began his artistic career at the age of five after winning a major art competition. Leighton-Jones is internationally known for his noticeable style of figurative painting and his moving representations of English life and traditions. Leighton-Jones is perhaps best known for his Street Urchin series, his illustrations of courtroom scenes and legal dealings, and his paintings of the clown Emmett Kelly.
