Batsell Moore studied art under Fredrick Myzen at Baylor University, Watkins Institute, Nashville, Tennessee. He furthered his training under artist Jack Jordan. He draws most of his inspiration from studying Spanish architecture on the west coast and as well as his everyday surroundings. His paintings reflect a particular time in American history, portraying the excitement, drama and humor of the era.
