Born in the Kwangsi Province, Che enjoyed a successful artistic career in his native China. After an additional four years in Hong Kong, Che moved to the United States where he became captivated with the different American styles. Most prolific in the late 1980s, Che wants to be considered an American artist because of the impact American culture had on his artistic style.
