British-born artist Chris Bacon was raised in Fiji, Ascension Island, and Bermuda and began drawing at a young age. In 1974, his family moved to Canada, where he made his gallery debut with 22 watercolor paintings at age 19. The show sold out in three minutes on the preview night, and Bacon has been working as a full-time artist ever since. Bacon’s artwork has appeared in exhibitions by the Society of Animal Artists and the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wisconsin. He has been recognized with six Awards of Excellence from the Society of Animal Artists and the Master Wildlife Artist Award from the Leigh Yawkey Woodson. Bacon regularly exhibits his work in North America, Europe, and Japan and his art appears in many private collections around the world.
