Born in Tubingen, Germany, Christa Kieffer studied all over Europe before moving to the United States to attend the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. After earning the first prize in the Society of Illustrators competition, Christa was given a fellowship toward the completion of her Masters of Fine Arts degree and went on to teach a class for gifted high school students. After many commissions from a variety of companies, including Simon and Schuster, Caspari, the Royal Mail of England, Digitek corporation, Portal Publication and the NFL, Kieffer made the desicion to focus all of her energy to easel painting. Kieffer currently resides in a quaint community by Point Reyes National Seashore in California. She is co-founded the Gallery Route One in the nearby Point Reyes Station. She visits Paris often, waking in the early hours of dawn to walk the boulevards and photograph the magic of the city before it is completely distorted by tour buses and the noise of the increasing amount of cars.
