Colleen Ross

Colleen Ross burst into the art world in 1979 with her one-of-a-kind depictions of women. With a vast knowledge of various artistic media (drawing, painting, sculpture, acid etching, lithography, silk screen, and multiple media mixtures), Ross found that her most effective method for expression was through oil on canvas. Taking on classical techniques, Ross' unique style of using thick and colorful pigments has made her visions come to life. Drawing world-wide attention through sell-out shows, celebrity events, and numerous charities, Ross' work has crossed over all forms of the international media. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and media events, including PEOPLE Magazine, New York Times, USA Today, Variety, Extra, Access Hollywood, Barbara Walters, movies, and TV shows. Her celebrity clientele include Brooke Shields, whose show with Ross created such an uproar that lines of fans spanned down Rodeo Drive in Beverley Hills to view her sublime work. Others celebrity fans include Nicolas Cage, Jane Seymour and George Lucas, who had Ross take his Tucker car which she immortalized in the piece titled "Very Nice Lines". Colleen Ross' passion for her art is triggered by the pure vulnerability she feels through each of her subjects. As a child, she was influenced by romance comic books, black and white movies, and the Ed Sullivan Show, all of which are still vivid in her creations. Her signature originality mixes the highest quality and grade of Masterpiece with "campy" playfulness and rock-star attitude all of which are unparalleled in the world of art.
