Correia Art Glass

The art of glassblowing has remained virtually unchanged since the creations of ancient Egypt and Rome, and Correia Art Glass is a prime example of this ancient art form. Located in Santa Monica, California, the studio was founded in 1973 by nationally renowned glass artist Steven V. Correia. It uses the finest sand from the American Southwest using unique formulas of minerals and precious metals to create glowing glass. Using freehand blowing techniques and a combination of tools developed over century and new technology, the creations are unrivaled in their appearance and quality. Correia does not use molds to create the artwork, making each handmade piece precious and unique. Well-respected for its creations, Correia Art Glass has been commissioned for gifts to the President and Prime Minister of Portugal, for crystal obelisks for the palace at Abu Dhabi, and for one-of-a-kind ornaments for the White House Christmas tree. Numerous prestigious museums also hold Correia pieces in their permanent collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the Corning Museum, and the Chrysler Museum of Art. The perfect union of art and function, Correia Art Glass creations are collected and exhibited worldwide.
