Watercolor painting is quite unique and demanding in its application and technique. Unlike other painting mediums, watercolors are not a stationary type of pigment, thus it is more difficult to control and becomes a lesson in understanding the behavior of the water, rather than dominating it. Modern watercolor paints have evolved to be just as colorful and durable as other types of paint, and following suit the medium has grown ever more popular both in decorative and high arts.
