Dino Diaconescu
Dino Diaconescu is a glass sculptor and a member of the "Fine Arts Union" of Romania. His glasswork is consistant with the style of the 16th century and uses glass creating methods including: hot glass sculpture, Fusing and thermal glass work, sandblasting/ polishing, and Murano techniques. Due to his extraordinary talent, Romania considereds him to be one of their finest glassware artists. From 1971 to 1978 Diaconescu worked in Dorohoi (Romania) as a glassware designer. He went on to produce glass art and manage his career. Diaconescu competed in a glass art competition for 13 consecutive years in Romania and won 1st and 2nd place numerous times. In 1991 he traveled to France to work as a master in the art of glass with fellow artists: Scott Slagerman (USA), Pedro Velaso (Portugal) and art designer Stefano Poletti (Italy). In 1992 he began a relationship with the NAQO studio in Paris, France. From 1993 to 1995 Diaconescu worked along the magnificent Coast de Azur for Madame Francoise Cortese, an Italian master glass worker from Murano, Italy. In 1996 Diaconescu returned to Romania and opened his own glass studio and was invited a couple years later by Mr. Dennis Simmermann to attend and demonstrate his artwork at the European Centre of Research and Development of Art Glass in France. Diaconescu is currently showing his glass works in a variety of galleries in Buchrest Romania and sells works in Germany, France, Holland, Brazil, Italy, Japan, Switzerlan and the United States.
