Dobner was born in and lived most of his life in Germany in the early part of the 1900’s. Though he spent some time studying art in Italy, it was Dobner's majestic landscapes, painted while participating in an artist studio in Munich, that he is best known for. He is well regarded specifically for his beautiful technique in painting alpine scenes of the German landscape.
