Edward Sokol

Edward Sokol knew he was destined to be an artist from the age of three. He attended New York’s High School of Music and Art, and Hunter’s College, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in painting. Soon after graduating college, Sokol became an elementary school teacher while continuing to pursue his dream of becoming an artist. After only a few outdoor art shows, Sokol was offered representation by two New York Art galleries, and he began to work full time as an artist, all the while steadily exhibiting at more and more art shows and captivating new art collectors.

Sokol was introduced to influential gallery owner Felicie in 1977, and immediately impressed with his work, she became his exclusive publisher for his limited edition graphics and posters. With the help of Felicie, Sokol’s artwork is on show year round in her gallery, and over six thousand of Sokol’s paintings, drawings, collages, sculptures and limited edition prints are in public, corporate, museum and private collections around the world. His work has also been exhibited at the Metropolitian Museum of Art, in New York City, and Sokol was honored to have three of his works chosen by the State Department in Washington D.C. for inclusion in their Art in the Embassies Program.

“At the heart of Sokol’s paintings is the vision of a happy human being. He combines his rich, pure colors with a vivid, personal record of places and things; happy responses, to a world colored by his own delight in the visual experience.”
