He majored in art at Boise State University and the Scottsdale Art School and then studied under renowned artists Andrew Peters, Robert Moore and John Hoerjs. He paints from nature, not from photographs. Most of the settings are in the Sawtooth Mountains north of Ketchum, Idaho. He is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. His work is well known and prized by collectors.
