Born in the suburbs of San Juan, Peurto Rico, Felix Velez was raised in a traditional hard-working middle-class family. Velez first realized his passion for art as a teenager and by the age of sixteen was selling his wire sculptures to tourists in San Juan. Without any formal training in the arts, Velez moved to the United States at twenty years old and starting sculpting immediately.

Inspired by nature and God, the “master sculptor” – Velez is deeply religious – Velez works mostly with clay in the lost wax process, then casts his sculptures in bronze. Velez’s acclaimed sculptures can be found in community and private collections internationally.
