Ferdez
Born in Lima, Peru in 1974, Ferdez exhibited natural talent in the visual arts at a very young age. Interested in a career as an artist, she attended the Universidad Catolica de Peru, where she studied art techniques and history as well as interior, graphic, and retail display design.
During her years as a student, Ferdez proved to be skilled at adopting various artistic styles, but she shined as a landscape painter. However, her paintings are more than just images of streams or cities; they convey emotions and attitudes. As Ferdez explains, “My art brings out conflicting emotions. The canvas is a battlefield.” Much of the conflict is up to the viewer. For example, some might find peace in a tranquil twilit scene, while others interpret a sense of regret at the “twilight” of an unfulfilled life. A great deal of Ferdez’s appeal is in this ambiguity, which invites the viewer into the artistic process. As she continues to gather a wider audience, Ferdez is more and more appreciated for her remarkable paintings.
