Garber was born in 1923 in Coloma, a small village in Michigan. Like most artist, Art Garber’s talent for painting immerged at a young age. His art education was very important to him, and he ultimately graduated from the St. Louis School of Fine Art, Missouri where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

Garber often enjoyed painting portrait style pieces of Rabbi’s, Sea Captains, and Indian Warriors. When painting such subjects he likes to manipulate the extremes in light sources and balances to bring out his subject matter.

Throughout his lifetime, Garber has been part of numerous exhibitions and has received many accolades. For many years he was a commercial artist, but now enjoys freelancing.
