Heddy Kun

Heddy Kun's vibrant oil paintings beam with a direct simplicity. Kun channels light in her works, be it dawn or twilight, she is able to create the perfect glow or her backgrounds. With her distance style she creates images that one is able to visually wander off through a pleasant town in the country and get lost with a delightful innocence. She is a true artist in the traditional sense. Her paintings invoke powerful emotions and have a universal appeal in a most unpretentious and familiar way. Her backgrounds are reminiscent of Cezanne in the manner in which she captures the essence of the Mediterranean. Behind the rhythm of Kun's paintings is her artistic spirit which travels through magical paths and doorways. Painting is an uncontainable expression for Kun. As a child she endured the terrors of the Holocaust. After the war she studied at the Academy of Art in Budapest under the finest art professors. In 1956 Kun immigrated to Israel where she established herself as an important artist and has since then taken part in numerous exhibitions in Israel, the UK, the United States, Australia, France and Germany.
