Henry Pearson

Henry Pearson was born in North Carolina in 1914 and recieved his Master of Fine Arts Degree from Yale University in 1938. He continued his studies in Japan and later at the Art Students League, New York. Pearson's prints have brought him awards and honors, including a Ford Foundation grant in Printmaking at the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles, the prestigious Henry Scheidt Award (Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia) and Kreeger Purchase Award (Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.). Currently, Pearson is a member of the fine art faculty of the New School of Social Research in New York. His work has been exhibited at numerous galleries and museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Institute of Arts and Art Students League Centennial Exhibit.
