Janice Darr Cua’s natural talent was noticeable at a very young age. She began being trained by Phyllis Markawitz at eight years old. She was well taught in oil, life drawing and sculpture. By the age of 10 she was exhibiting and selling art in Los Angeles. When Darr Cua was fifteen she received first prize for the State of California Hallmark Card Art Contest. By age seventeen she took a position as a commercial artist for a local firm. She continued with her career until the demand for private commissions demanded her full attention. Several years later she opened a Gallery. Darr Cua’s works can be found in galleries throughout the world. Her shows in Tokyo continually sell out of her works quite rapidly.
