Jennifer Crandel was born in Kansas City, Missouri. By the age of six, she was impressing adults with her intricate abstract images.

In her adult years Crandel earned a scholarship to Florida State University. Her goal was to improve upon her technique and become an artist full time. She won several awards and nominations that allowed her to grow as an artist.
