Juan Echenique was born in San Martin, Peru in 1967. He studied painting at the Escuela de Nacional Bellas Artes de Lima and graduated with the highest honors in 1994. Today he is a young expressionist painter and he focuses his studies in art on the relationships between people and their environment. He does so by transforming the human figure into a flat, cubic and animated shape. Echenique uses his art to describe life with a twist of humor, using size, shape and color to convey message.
