Growing up in Yorkshire, Julia Ogden spent much of her youth drawing. Art remained her passion throughout her formative years, which led her to study Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and later earn an MA in Sequential Illustration at Brighton University. During her university years, most of her work was print-based, but after she completed her studies, Ogden became enamored with painting. Ogden’s favorite subjects to paint are florals, landscapes, and figures, and she is particularly interested in playng with color and composition. No matter what her subject is, Ogden always hopes her works will have a positive feel that allow the viewer to “escape grey days.”
