Though born to Tom and Louise DiMaggio, owners of the DiMaggio's Restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, June DiMaggio's most well-known relative is her uncle, baseball legend Joe DiMaggio. June also had contact with other pop culture icons as she worked in Hollywood on several films and TV series. Most notably, June was a confidante to Marilyn Monroe, who was her close friend from before Monroe's marriage to Joe until the day she died.
