Katty Kanashiro was born in Lima, Peru and she studied painting at the prestigious Escuela de Bellas Artes under the tutelage of Miguel Angel Cuadros. Katty later graduated with the highest of honors. She is regarded as one of South America's most talented emerging artists. She is part of a group of Japanese-Peruvian citizens that have received widespread acclaim in the past few years in Peru and South America.
