Kimiko Okerson

As a young girl in her native land of Japan, Kimiko Okerson came to painting through Calligraphy. While studying Japanese Calligraphy, she was introduced to Gene K Prewitt who recognized her artistic eye and began to teach her basic oil painting. As her skills progressed, she branched out and began to studying with other teachers, the first of which was Suzanne Kartz, who specialized in "Rosemaling", the Norwegian style of decorative painting on wood.

Kimiko's work has been exhibited locally in the Dallas area at the "Artists Showplace Gallery", the Plano Art Association, and "The Plano Art Mulit-cultural Exhibit."
