Kris Carlson has been an artist since her childhood in the Midwest. She studied design at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art before she came to own a gallery, a stained-glass studio, and a bookstore. In terms of technique, Carlson is a self-taught painter, although she also involved herself in other media. She is particularly skilled in creating beautiful stained leaded glass. She uses copper foil construction to make her mirrors, planters, candles holders, windows, and lamps and although it is difficult and expensive, it is durable and allows her great freedom of design.

Currently living near Savannah, George, Carlson raises her children while painting and creating beautiful art that she has sold around the world. Infused with intense color and passionate love, her art imitates her life.
