Kristen Gunnarson

Kristen Gunnarson’s paintings are widely appreciated for her unconventional use of color and texture. The implied activity within her work is fluid and spontaneous; each piece provokes figuratively influenced thoughts and emotions. After studying art and fashion design at Lund University in Sweden, Kristen left her homeland to expose herself to various cultural influences in Miami, Fl., expressing her findings through ever expanding “freeform abstract art.” Frequently traveling back to her native Sweden, Kristen shows her work all over Europe and beyond, drawing inspiration for future works from the people and scenery. Furthermore, she has stated that “traveling has everything to do with my art. There is so much texture in an open field with a mountain forming in the distance…texture is such a big part of art and I try to bring what I’ve seen into my work with bright colors and depth of outline.”
