L. Simon was born in Naples in 1919. Simon was always creatively driven, but his passion was initially in music. After Simon became deaf from serving in the war, he found that he could best express himself through art. Though Simon's hearing would eventually return with the help of surgery, his passion for art remained. Simon is particularly inspired by the ocean, and his magnificent seascapes have been exhibited in major galleries in Rome and Florence.
