Cappiello Leonetto visited Paris in 1898 and was so enraptured by the city that he became a naturalized citizen of France that very same year. Over the course of his impressive 40 year career, Cappiello completed a plethora of work, creating on average a prolific two posters per month. He is notable for the fact that Cappiello was the first artist to create posters that were not only appealing to pedestrians, but would also catch the eyes of motorists as well.
