Lucien Ardenne (Real name is Lucien Louis Cas) was born in 1914 in Vivier-au-Court, France and died in 1993 in Illy, France. Before becoming an Art Naive painter he was sailor, boxer and policeman. Ardenne painted sports scenes, still lives, seascapes and was known for his landscapes of the region of Ardennes in France.

He participated in all the most important exhibitions in Paris such as Peintres Temoins de leur Temps, Salon du Dessin Et De La Peinture a l'Eau, Salon Comparaisons, Grands et Jeunes d'aujourd'hui, Salon d'Automne, Salon des Independants.
