Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Maria Bertran received her B.F.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and studied in Paris before establishing her studio in Laguna Beach, California.

Painting entirely on location or from live subjects, the artist infuses her impressionist works with the passion and color of her native culture.

Maria Bertran has had successful exhibitions in France, Venezuela, and the United States; and her work is in private collections on six continents.
