Mats Eriksson lives in Stockholm, Sweden, where he makes a living – and an impression – as an artist. Eriksson used to be a research chemist, painting off and on in his free time, but in recent years he began painting more frequently. Now he paints almost daily.

Over the years, Eriksson has experimented with various media, but he prefers using acrylic paints on canvas. He has also explored a wide range of subjects, although for the last year he has mostly been painting nudes and portraits, in addition to a few still lifes and landscapes. Eriksson’s work is often characterized by his use of color and light; he is fascinated by how colors affect each other and the effect light has on a scene, and his paintings are evidence of his experimentation with them. The result is unique and powerful, a true reflection of the artist.
