Michael Chausovsky was born in Kiev, Ukraine. By the young age of 6 he had already begun experimenting with painting as well as sculpting. While serving in the Russian Military, he was often assigned to paint portraits of Soviet political leaders. After his discharge, he attended the Teachers Art College of Kiev. He later became an art teacher at the Kiev State Design Research Institute. Since immigrating to the United States, Chausovsky continues to spend time painting while working towards his Master of Fine Arts Degree.
