A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts College of Art, Neal Drobnis has been perfecting his expressionistic glass sculpture techniques, which often involve of combination of casting and blowing. Inspired by nature and ancient artifacts, Drobnis begins each piece with a drawing and then carves and assembles three-dimensional templates. After the molten glass breaks away from the mold, the pieces are left with a granular texture, and since each piece responds to the environment at the moment, Drobnis creates truly unique and expressionist pieces. Drobnis’s work can be found in private and corporate collections nationally, and he has also exhibited his world around the world.
