Nicholas Petrillo was born in Bellport, Long Island. Growing up with a family of fisherman, he developed a deep love for the sea. By the age of 16 he embarked on a journey along the California Coast with a friend. They were in search of the ideal scene to paint. They traveled from La Jolla to the Monterey Peninsula and found numerous locations. Petrillo went on to attend U.C. Santa Cruz and earned his degree in art history and a masters in painting. His works most always consist of oceanic and coastline scenes. “The ocean is the ultimate solution.
