Parque Florido, was born in Puno, Peru. Most of his time was spent in Juliaca, a small town in the Andes. As a youth, he helped his father design jewelry. His drafting abilities improved tremendously as a result.

In 1978 Florido and his family moved to Arequipa, which was a town of mostly artist. It was here that a book with the paintings of Leonardo inspired him to become a painter.

While Florido finished his art education at the Universidad Nacional de San Agustin, his natural talent was quite evident when, after only a few lessons in water color technique, he won the National Watercolor Contest El Pacifico Pro-Unamonos in 1988.
