Petr Gumeniuk was born in October of 1945 in the village of Uladovka in the Vinnitsa region of hte U.S.S.R. The picturesque surroundings of his homeland inspired his young heart, encouraging him to paint his early landscapes. Gumeniuk completed his military service in 1968 and later enroleld in the Kharkiv Academy of Fine Arts and graduated with a degree in interior design and easel painting. He worked as a designer in the former Soviet Union for more than ten years. In 1991, he started to paint in his own studio and has since developed into an accomplished oil painter.
