Kerry Hallam was born and raised in the north of England where he quickly developed his natural artistic talents. Hallam’s work earned him a six-year scholarship at London University, where he studied under painters such as Leslie Cole, Patrick Heron, and Hans Tisdale. Upon completing his studies, he entered the British military and served in Hong Kong and Malaya before moving to the United States in 1973. Located in Boston and on Nantucket Island, Hallam works diligently in the studio and gallery he established in 1981.

The appeal of Hallam’s work is simple and obvious, as he is able to turn the most mundane scene into one of romance and beauty. Combining energetic brush strokes and muted, sweet colors, his work is reminiscent of the Impressionist paintings by masters such as Cezanne and Van Gogh. The beautiful pieces Hallam has created have earned him a great deal of recognition, including the first place award of the Association Pour la Promotion Artistique Francaise and a feature in Forbes magazine. His paintings can also be found in private around the world.
