Samy Briss was born in Romania in 1930. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest before traversing Europe and settling in Israel in 1960. He currently lives in Paris where he continues to paint fabulous and unusual pieces which are surrealist and neo-primitive in style, and nostalgic and symbolic to look at. His work has been displayed across the world in Israel, the USA, and in major European countries including Belgium, Holland, Germany, France and Switzerland.
