Born and raised in Moscow as a descendant of Russian aristocracy, Lena Sotskova was fortunate to have a privileged upbringing that included a excellent education and extensive travel with her family. She visited the far reaches of her native country, as well as traveling throughout Europe and Asia. Lena studied oil painting early on in art school, and supplemented her education with private lessons. She was admitted to the most competitive art school named after Count Stroganoff, where classes were taught by world renowned masters of painting. There, she was not only taught the essentials of style and art techniques, but was permitted access to private viewings of such prestigious institutions as the Hermitage, the Louvre and the royal palaces of St. Petersburg. She was even involved in the restoration of rare pieces of art that were damaged during the Moscow fire of 1812 during the war with Napoleon Bonaparte.

Lena's education and exposure to culture has resulted in a very intriguing art style that is magnetic and powerful. Her paintings consist of layers of lines, forms and colors that capture the viewers' attention. Her compositions seem to be in perpetual motion, a sensual and spirited interaction of figures swathed in music, and dance. The results are at once appealing and spiritual.

Presently, Lena resides in Miami, Florida, and her work has gained worldwide recognition. Her art can be found in private collection and galleries in Europe, Asia, and in North and South America.
