Ken Wesman was born in Alberta, Canada in 1936 and moved to Vancouver, B.C., Canada six years later. The Pacific coast then became his home, and still his base, where he painted his first oils at age twelve. After leaving high school, he self-taught his skills in color and technique as a commercial artist. In 1975 he ventured the world, broadening his knowledge of the arts. Four years later, he returned from Europe to further pursue his desire and passion to paint. Wesman's philosophy is "Colour is Life".

Wesman used to paint photo-realistically with brushes, then decided to experiment with paint knives. The result was so exciting that today he still creates in the same manner, using paint knives and a multitude of vibrant colours to render on to canvas life's thrilling and memorable moments, especially sports. Internationally collected, corporate and individual purchases attest to the appreciation and desirability of Wesman's unique and high-energy art.
