Serrato is a native of the American Southwest, and its influence is seen in his artwork. He earned his BFA in printmaking from Arizona State University and his formal education in the arts has included the study of arts education, primary education, foreign language, philosophy, and studio art. Serrato’s work often includes some sort of embellishment, whether it be applying paint to build texture or incorporating metal foils. He works in his own painting and printing facility, where he creates fantastic abstract representations of the wide expanses and distant vistas of his home state that are collected across the United States and abroad.
