Starlie Sokol-Hohne was born in Santa Monica, California, in 1958 and studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. Sokol-Hohne’s artworks juxtapose images from antiquity with contemporary printmaking techniques and technology. She collages images from a variety of sources, reworking images to change the mood of the piece, and then blends the images together, painting by hand. Sokol-Hohne’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States and is held in many private, public, and corporate collections nationwide.
